Can I upgrade dimension 9150 processor so I can have HAV (hardware assisted virtualization)? If so, what should I buy?

Thanks for showing interest in helping me! I'm a little ticked to find out that this computer does not have virtual pc capability.

You would need to upgrade the cpu to a 9xx PentiumD ( without a 5 at the end )

I found Intel has Pentium D 950..... is that compatible and HAV capable? I read the specs on it, but must admit it was a bit over my head!!! :pt1cable:

Yes.
Intel Virtualization Technology = HAV capable.

Yes you can, but I think it would be cost consuming.

AGAIN... Thank you very much for helping me. I made the decision to not pursue this. I'm better off just buying a new desktop and this time I will make sure it is HAV capable.
