I'm in the midst of setting up a network in my house and would like my PS3 (as well as the other PCs and laptops) to be able to access the files on my main PC in my office.
In essence i would like to use my office PC as a shared drive. I'm pretty sure all of my other systems will be able to access it without a problem (all run XP pro except for the main PC which will run W7 Ultimate). The only thing I'm worried about is my PS3. I'm not sure whether it has the capability to recognize and access information on other computers on the network. Anyone know if it is capable of doing this, or do I absolutely have to setup a seperate home server or have a router with a built in shared drive function such as the linksys wrt610n. I'm reluctant to use a shared drive from a router since they are connected with USB 2.0 (meaning it will be damn slow).
Also do you know whether I will have any problems remotely accessing my W7 system with a XP pro OS computer/laptop?
