I've got two 4850s crossfired (@680mhz) and I'm wondering how I can tell if cross fire is actually working (i have the box checked in CCC). I currently have two monitors plugged into on of the 4850s and I expected that when I played games one of them would go black. However, when I play a game both monitors still work.

One monitor doesn't black out anymore while in crossfile, that was changed ages ago.

As closed said, you can use GPU-Z. Put 2 instances of it up on the second monitor, make sure each instance is looking at a different card, and start a game. If both cards clock up to their normal speeds / both are getting a significant load on them, then you know crossfile is working.

i'm not sure, but I think one of the 4850's would then be doing all the work, for both monitors

Thanks, I checked with GPU-Z and it is working. I'm getting average 90fps in Farcry 2 on highest with 0xAA.
