Basically I'm thinking about upgrading a few of my parts in my current computer and I wanted to get some opinions on like which upgrades are necassary or maybe theres a better upgrade?

My Specs
- Raidmax Sagitta 2 w/ 3 x 120MM fans
- 700W Rocketfish ATX 12V 2.2 PSU
- Crossfire 2 x ATI XFX HD4850 512MB
- Phenom II x4 940 3.0Ghz w/ Thermaltake SpinQ heatsink
- 8.00GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800
- ASROCK A780GXE/128M Mobo
- 1TB WD Caviar Black 7200rpm 32mb cache.
- 2 x Sony DVD/RW 24X
- Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium
- 1680x1050 20" Acer P201W monitor

Upgrades
- 1680x1050 20" Acer P201W to 1920x1080 23" LG w/ HDMI
- Raidmax Sagitta 2 to Antec 1200
- Crossfire 2 x ATI XFX HD4850 512MB to 1 x ATI XFX HD5870 1GB
- 700W Rocketfish ATX 12V 2.2 to 1000W BFG ATX 12V 2.2
- Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium to Windows 7 64bit Home Premium (I get a free upgrade)

Also Would it be benifitial to also get a AM3 Mobo and DDR3 1600 memory?

Upgrading to Windows 7 is an obvious no-brainer. Definitely do it.

You have absolutely no need for a 1000W PSU. If the rocketfish is wearing out a good Corsair 750TX or Antec TP750 PSU is all the power you need. More watts doesnt necessarily make a power supply better.

You might wait until DX11 becomes an issue to upgrade the 4850s to a 5870.

If you are not having heat problems, the only reason to change the case is cosmetics.

You left out the option to upgrade the motherboard to an AM3 and the RAM to DDR3.

I would go for the monitor upgrade first.

What do you feel like your system is lacking? Is this just a gaming rig?

The AMD 940x4 only has the DDR2 controller on it. So you can't just upgrade the mobo and ram. That would need a new CPU also and now your opening the door for intel. But really, there's nothing lacking about your current system for gaming. +1 for dndhatcher on the Win 7, case, PSU, and GPUs. 4850s CF will do just fine on a 1920x1080 monitor.

:heink: Phenom II 940 is an AM2+ CPU, the 945 is AM3. Why can they not make sensible naming conventions so you can tell important things by the model numbers? :pfff:

What exactly aren't you happy with? Your video card setup should be good enough for all games currently out. You could upgrade to a 5870, but with that setup you might want to wait another generation? Or at least wait to see what Nvidia comes up with.

How long have you had that PS? If its older than a year or 2 you might want to consider upgrading to a quality PSU maker such as Corsair.

If you wanted to upgrade your case the Antec 900 would be plently for your setup..but if you want to spend the money for the 1200 go for it.

If you looking to boost your performance, I would suggest buying a SSD such as the Intel-x25m. It should speed up loading times considerably.

You can find good deals occasionally on a 1920x1080 monitor for around ~$150.
