i need help connecting my laptop wireless

On the taskbar along the bottom edge is an icon that shows all of the wireless networks in the area. Right click it and then click the network that shows in the list to connect. If there is security on the network, then enter the password in the text box that pops up next. Select to connect automatically and save it. The laptop should be online after a pop up windows may open to select the type of network, like Work, Home, Public, this only is with Windows 7 PCs.
