LITE ON DVDRW iHAS120 6 BURNING PROBLEMS

I have a home brew WIN7 (64) Biostar TA790GX 128M, AMD ATHLON 64X2 4400+, 4G 6400 800 MHZ mem. LiteOn iHAS 120 6 DVD-RW drive. I have tried and tried to write to this drive and get the same errors. It tries to formate the disk and then says that the format failed. I have tried various makers and + and - disks. Ihav etried various programs (Microsoft , NERO 7 ssentials ,PoweDVD by cyberlink,CDBURNERXP) all with the same result. Can you help?
