I would like to keep:

CASE: nMediaPC HTPC 5000B

PSU: Antec Earthwatts EA380 380W

RAM: G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800

BLU-RAY: Lite-On Blu-ray Drive

I would like to compare:

Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H
with
Intel Core2Quad 8200

and

Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H
with
Phenom II X3 710

I'm looking for Windows Media Center, Netflix, and NHL GameCenter (Flash) on a 50" DLP @ 1920x1080

Thoughts?

AMD is the obvious choice for a HTPC IMO due to their superior integrated graphics. I wouldn't get the Phenom II x3 710, though. You can get the Athlon II X4 620 for less money with this combo:

I kind of like this one:

It even comes with a 350W PSU, so it will save some money.

I like LG drives, but any drive should work. Keep in mind that OEM drives don't come with any software, so it might be worth spending a little more on a retail drive.

Here's a question is Blu-ray really gonna make it... I might just dump the optical and go with a simple dvd reader, no need to write......

so I went with everything except i dropped down to the Athlon II X2 240... i dont need the quad core... i have a gaming pc that can do that...
