Ram problem

Probably not as long as it is good RAM.

How did that overclock your RAM to 900Mhz? The E5500 is a 14x multiplier right? So you have the FSB set to 221 x 14 = 3.1Ghz right? Core2 chips do best with the RAM set at a 1:1 ratio with the FSB. You must have the RAM set at a 2:1 ratio.

I had an E8400 with a 9x multiplier that still runs at 4.050Ghz even today ( I sold it to a friend ) and it has Corsair DDR2 800 overclocked to 900Mhz and has been running stable since 2007. 450FSB * 9x multiplier. I left the RAM at a 1:1 ratio with the FSB.

As long as you have good RAM and the system is stable for 6 to 8 hours of Prime 95 tesing your RAM is fine overclocked to 900Mhz. I say leave it at a 1:2 ratio.

i have a dg41rq motherboard it supports ram upto 800mhz and my ram is also of 800mhz
i have overclocked my e5500 to 3.1ghz
so it has taken my ram to 900 mhz
will it get fried????

How did you manage to overclock the CPU on DG41RQ, please do tell as i have a q6600 which i want to OC on this m/b

set the clock generator to CV184-2APAG

Isn't there a need to increase the voltage ?? can i OC at stock voltage by just changing the values in the program ?

easily

I did reached 3.0 ghz but then within 10 mins the system crashed twice & second time i got BOD so i went back to stock.

So i guess all i need is an aftermarket cooler & I am good, by the way my current PSU is hytech 400W, should i buy a new PSU as well ??

get a good cooler if you can afford then go with a H60 or heavy heatsink coolers
mine works with a hyper tx3 but you have quad core and its running on 65nm manufacturing process thats why you need good cooling
