DDR3 CAS7 choice Tags: Memory DDR3 RAM New Build Product Last response: April 15, 2010 9:30 PM in Memory Share green_tea April 15, 2010 9:14:22 PM I am ordering parts for a new build in the next few days. I have settled on just about everything, but still need some help on the RAM. I am looking for 6GB DDR3 1600 CAS7 In the New Build forum I have see numerous recommendation for this ram: G. Skill PI series http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... However, the heat sinks look huge. I would like to use a large CPU cooler, probably either the Noctua NH-D14 or Prolimatech Megahalems, I am worried about it clearing the ram. This Corsair Ram looks much shorter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Other than $10 more is there any disadvantage to the Corsair? Or, is there another option I should be looking at. My MOBO is the Gigabyte GA-x58A-UD3R if that matters as far as spacing.
