Is it my motherboard battery?

Can anyone help me tell if these issues are caused by my motherboard's battery dying?

I tried to install Catalyst 9.9. Whenever I reboot, I have 9.7 and the old display drivers.

My computer installs the same update every time I shut down

I'm guessing it's not able to remember that it's already installed these things before? I really don't know what's going on, but I'm hoping it's something simple like the motherboard battery :/

No, this has nothing to do with your battery. The Catalyst installation failed if it shill says you have the older verison. Read up carefully on how to UNinstall the drivers you have now so the new 9.9 can be re-installed.

By the way, check the ATI website to be sure that the 9.9 drivers are right for your video card. If you have an older card (like me), some of the newest Catalyst drivers do nothing better, so it may automatically be leaving the best drivers in place.
