I have been reading the forums for a while and found out that my 8200a MB does not have the ACC setting enabled, or present at all I don't really know which. MY question is, can I download a "generic" BIOs that will let me unlock the 4th core on my X3 or will that render my ECS board unusable?

Actually, I have an ECS board with an AMD SB750 chipset, and there's still no ACC option in the BIOS. (I have an Athlon II X3, too!) For whatever reason, ECS decided they simply wouldn't support that feature.

Some 710/750 sb mobo makers have caved to Amd and removed/changed ACC with a new bios. try one of the older bios versions. use your manufacturers downloads only. good luck

Amd Phenom x4 9150e
Asrock A785GM-LE/128M
2GB Kingston DDR2 800

Thanks, but none of their BIOSes support it AFAIK.

This is NOT TRUE! Nvidia motherboards do have a ACC functionality. It has a different name, which I don't recall at the moment, but it is there. How in the world did you get best answer for that one?

The function your looking for, if your board has it is:

Nvidia Core Calibration (NCC)

This is what Nvidia calls ACC on their boards.
