Cant connect my acer to my trendnet router

hi rencetly bought a trendent 652 wifi router and connect it to my emac ethernet input but when i try to connect it my acer laptop it wont connect need help

I need clarification, are you trying to connect the acer laptop via wire or wireless?

I'm not sure what "connect it to my emac ethernet input" means either.

I assume the Trendnet router is connected to a modem and accessing the Internet via your ISP, correct? It is otherwise working correctly w/ other desktops/laptops?
