ok is the one i need?
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders

  4. Both the graphics cards have similar performance...The HD 4850 would be faster but the 4770 would be more power efficient.

And you still have not said what you will be using the PC for...
As for the OS, yes that is the one...
  5. Just for playing Aion..and the to cards say they need 450 power supply.. or higher..the case has a 430 in it so i need another case and power supply? Another question..is a Gt220 better then these cards?
  6. No... That 430W PSU can easily handle both the graphic cards...

And as for the GT 220, better stay away from that if you want to game at decent settings...

  7. And check out this combo -
    X2 550 + Gigabyte 770
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.272089

I just built a PC for my friend using this CPU. I was able to unlock all the remaining 2 cores easy... And you get extra cache too...But the core unlock would be a hit or miss so not pretty sure about that though as the unlocked cores might not be stable...
But as a gaming CPU, even the X2 550 is very good because of its higher clock speed and cache...
But the X4 620 is a very good multitasker as you get all 4 cores...
  8. Ok reason i ask that ..hp has it in there computer..ok here is the final build tell me if it passes and I'm buying it tommorow:)

Well if the X2 550 is better i'll get that one..just game on it and watch a little hulu...lol
  10. ^ That is a good setup...

And just a suggestion...do try to learn a little about overclock. The 2.6GHz clockspeed of that quad might be slow for some games, so overclocking it just a little higher would give better results...And am pretty sure that the stock HSF can handle 3GHz clock speed without much issues...

Well if you dont feel the need for 4 cores, then the X2 550 is also a very good alternative...
So just browse around for reviews on the Quad and the Dual core and get the one that you like...

Ok I well guess i'm going with the X2 550:) ...is there any good guides on overclocking?..pluse that memory is good right?
  12. Some links that would help...
    http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/processors/AMD_Phenom_II_X2_550_14.html

    http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/525772-official-phenom-ii-x2-550-club.html

And after you learn well about overclocking, do get an aftermarket CPU cooler, that can push the 550 even higher...

And as for the RAM, Yes it is good...But if you are too worried about the reviews there, get this one...
    CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260
  13. I would not get x2 550, get either x4 620 or x3 435. You are on a budget built and probably want it to last as long as possible in which case x3 or x4 will be much better. And You can overclock x4 620 with stock cooler 3-3.2GHZ easily, no need for aftermarket cooler, put saved money towards better video card, You might want to look at HD5750. For OS if the one You have is retail then there will be no problems reusing it , if it is OEM then it is not supposed to be used on another PC but there is way to do it.

ok i'll go back to the x4 620 ..like the other nice guy said.can i run a bigger card of that power supply or keep the card that i have there

  16. It is not glue and do not use glue. HSF's come with it preapplied and You do not need any unless You remove and reinstall HSF

Thanks bud...That combo saved some money..lol right at $$658.81:)
How can you tell if you have a OEM or Retail..so i can use my Vista home premium 32 bit on it..i know not the best but It's all i have:(..trying to find out if i can use it...
  26. If the OS came pre-installed when you bought the PC from any vendor, then most probably it would be an OEM as the vendors get bulk discounts on OEM versions and pre-install them on the PCs they sell...

But if you have the OS installation disk and the serial key with you, then there might be a chance to reuse it...This thread might help...
