I have a athlon 64 3500+ oced to 2.5ghz with a xfx 9600gt 512mb oced version and 2gb of ddr1, all cooping with windows vista.
The problem is that 1080p videos play with audio completely out of sync. Is there any feature that i need to turn on in order to use hardware acceleration for video playback?
Thanks in advance.

are you using vlc media player? if not try that. If you already are, get windows media player classic and the right codecs and give that a try

for vlc, go to preferences > input and codecs > all/advanced > set "skip the loop filter for h.264 decoding to all.

that might also help

I'd try those suggestions first. If those don't help, google "community codec pack" and download that. You may be just running into slowdown issues with your hardware, it is a few generations behind.
