Dell Alienware Aurora ALX Desktop Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit locking me

Some more details of "Dell Alienware Aurora ALX Desktop Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, locking me out and asking for my PW even within a minute or two of keyboard/mouse inactivity but allows me in when I type in the Password"

At system boot, a small window flashes in and out: "Entering Powersave mode", So I modified all settings related to the monitor Power Options and Sleep - set them all to "Never!". No use!

When,as an Admin, I get locked out, My Profile Photo with my screen name is displayed with the word "Locked" below that and below that is a window asking for my Password and below that is an option to "Shift User"! . User Account Modification has no provision to knock out this annoyance.

I have not allowed any Guest User. So there is no point in using "Shift User" - I tried that too! No use!

This PC does not have wireless connectivity - so no malicious intrusion is possible.

There are no viruses, trojans, spyware, malware etc.,

This problem has been there right from Day 1 and therefore it may not be the result of some system files getting corrupted during Windows Updates, Install /

Uninstall of HW and SW etc.,

I have not come across any PC user who has this problem. Some unfortunate netizens have been permanently locked out, I read!

I do not know whether this is a special feature of Gaming PCs - mine is one although I do not play games with it!

Re-installing Windows 7 has not helped either.

I look forward to a solution!

Thanx!

Check the screensaver settings. Is it set to return to login screen when coming out of screen saver?

Hi logamuthu, I agree with what arael ^is suggesting too.

Did u re-installed Windows 7 from factory DVD or MS DVD?

If it was factory DVD, it could be set to it or maybe u set it not realizing it?

BTW, how quickly your screensaver comes up?

Thank you, arael!

Your suggestion worked!

Yours is the best answer!

Thank you too nikorr for coming in. I used a factory DVD. I have set the screensaver to "None" and therefore no screen saver comes up. This annoying autolock used to come at random intervals. Anyway it is behind me now, thanks to areal.

I am now trying to decipher two other small windows - one coming at POST time - "Entering Power Save Mode" and another after Starting Windows - "1 Digital". I probably don't need to worry about them. Any thoughts? Shall revert to you again!
