Winxp 1394 network adapter

just reinstalled winxp from a disk (winxp sp3) and can not connect to the internet. I figured all the drivers would be on the cd but looks like i'm missing the 1394 netwrok adapter drivers. Can you help or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

That is not the driver you need. Look in device manager, is the ethernet adapter installed and not showing any errors?

If you are talking about the XP disk having drivers, usually not. You can get them from the PC vendor's support site though.

what kind of computer is it?

1394 is usually a Firewire adapter; however, in the last two or three years laptops start using it for the wireless network cards
