I have couple old NEC 486 Versa 50 laptops, and the last one
I baught came with an external dual slot charging unit.
No data came with the charger and I dont really know how its supposed to
work. I just plug in 2 of the battery packs and feed power to a plug
on the back of the unit which is identical to the PWR adapter supply
receptacle on the back of the laptops. I put 2 batteries in and
I dont know if one slot is supposed to be a "pull down" slot
(to purposefully completely discharge the battery or recycle it)
and then recharge it or what. If I leave two batteries packs
one in the left slot and one in the right slot, A RED PILOT LIGHT
LIGHTS UP ON THAT BATTERY and a yellow light lightes up on the
other one, finally after an hour or so the light indicator changes
to green so am assumming that means its fully charged. The battery
gets quite warm to the touch. So I remove the one in the right
slot after an hour or two and move it over to the left slot
and sure enuff after a while that pilot light also changes from
red to green. Anyone have one of these external dual chargers
like this ??
Joe
