SPECS ARE XP-PRO- AMD opteron 185 - 2 gb ram Asus 939 MB ANS Ultra 650 watt modular PSU . mostly used to watch tv and Blu ray videos , with my son playing a few games . Should I buy a newer card with the chance I'll be upgrading within a year to quad CPU ?
And will a newer card x-16 2.0 work on the 939 board ?
Thanks Forgot to add , monitor/tv is vizio 42" 1080-p

Does your motherboard have a PCI-E 16x slot? A 4670 or 4650 should be plenty, they both come in AGP and PCI-E versions incase your board is older and only has an AGP slot.

I would suggest a 4670 or 4650, the 5750 is significantly stronger but you wont use any of its extra processing power until your son starts moving into some more graphically intesive games, by which time a 5750 will be significantly cheaper, or possibly replaced by a cheaper better performing card.
