What I don't recall seeing is that bench run in DX11 on W7 & Vista with the same rig to see whether the OS makes a jot of difference.

Firing squad recently did some reviews with the new cards and ran benchmarks with the 4 series reported to be running DX 10.1 and the 5 series cards reported to be running DX11. Now as the system was running W7 then the DX10.1 cards were getting the benefits of MT and any other benefits that would filter through to the lower DX cards ?

This was rumored to be the case a long time before the cards were released and i would like to see some tests that show what if any difference running a DX10.1 card in a DX11 environment makes to the performance.

I believe what well see is around 15% in the appropriate games
That is, games using MT vs those not, or where it can or cant make a difference

What do you mean appropriate games ? I thought MT was a hardware thing, are you saying that its actually got to be coded for as well.
From all the discussions we had regarding this on the run up to the release and from my own system getting improvements when running W7 i was of the impresion that the MT effect was a given ?

It depends om game.
Some will benefit more than others, some wont need it and wont show much, some cant, and arent limited at all.
In most games thatll use it effectively, youll see improvements.
If a game isnt limited at all, MT isnt going to do alot is what I mean

Easy solution: Test Lost Planet on Vista with and without the DX11 update. Its the most Threaded game I know of, and should put an end to the "Will DX11 threading make a difference" debate.

For the majority of games, I'd be shocked at any noticable performance gain, but we'll see in a week or so once people start testing out.
