BUDGET RANGE: ~1200 after rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Audio recording/Gaming, general use

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Speakers, mouse

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Mostly, if there is a killer deal elsewhere, i'd love to know.

PARTS PREFERENCES: no preference

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Need a monitor, not set on but looking at 1920X1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Would like it quiet(for recording). I'd like to try windows 7. I want compatibility with Ableton and ProTools, this means I may have to set up a dual boot with XP 32/Windows 7, is this possible? I like simple/plain functional designs. The following are components I've skimmed from other recommendations. Let me know what ya'll recommend.

Really, I'm just curious how loud this will run, and how bad the GPU will be, relative to modern games. It should be noted that my current system is an eight year old laptop with a radeon mobility 9700. So, pretty much anything current will blow my mind I'm sure.
