Playing games at non-native resolutions

Hi All

I am looking to upgrade my hardware after a couple of years away from the scene. As part of this I am looking to purchase a new monitor to replace my current 19in TFT. I have been looking at widescreen 24in LCD's with a native resolution of 1900x1200.

I'm unlikely to be able to upgrade my graphics hardware often enough to always play at the native resolution and I'm unsure of what resolutions games tend to support these days (especially as I know widescreen resolutions aren't always the best supported).

Will I have an problems playing at a non-native resolution? If so do you know of any tips/tricks to help?

Should I be looking for a smaller panel with a smaller resolution considering my major use will be gaming?

Thanks in advance for help/opinions etc.

You'll be fine playing at non native resolutions, just make sure they are widescreen else you'll be looking at everything stretched.

Almost all games out of the last 4 years or so support widescreen, you'll probably never run into that problem.
