Hyper 212+ - Single or Push/Pull?

Hello,

I have read it's a good idea to have the same speed fans if you want to do a push/pull setup with the CM Hyper 212+.

I have an extra 120mm fan lying around that has a similar RPM to the 120mm exhaust fan I'm using in the back of my case. They both run at about 1K RPM each.

I was thinking about configuring these two fans in to a push/pull setup and then using the fan that came with the heatsink as the exhaust fan. That one runs at about 1850 RPM.

Does anyone know which configuration would perform better?

You really want to match the rpm and cfm on the two fans, so that they will be pushing about the same amount of air at the same rpms.

Won't hurt anything if the RPM/CFM isn't matched up though.

I understand. However, my question is would the 2 fans in a push/pull configuration outperform the single fan at a about twice the RPM?

That is a really good question. I honestly do not know if they would be equal or not. I have a vague memory of reading that push/pull at lower would be better though.

I am interested to know what others have to say on this as well.

With matched fans a push/pull set-up generally yields a 1-2C temp drop.
