My sister's kid dropped her laptop from a couch, laptop got dented/scratched and wouldn't boot into Windows 7. Drive made a nasty clicking sound. When I attempted to do a clean install of Windows 7 it wouldn't go past 'Setup is starting' screen. Pulled the original drive from the laptop and installed a spare 100GB I have. Go to the hard drive selection screen and there's no hard drive 
Restarted the laptop went into the BIOS and the hard drive is not there!
Maybe both hard drives are bad? Nope. I put a working hard drive from my Toshiba lappy same thing won't show in the BIOS. I can feel the drive spinning, but it just won't show up in the BIOS or W7 setup. This eliminates the possibility of the hard drive, being the culprit.
This laptop is really starting to frustrate me right about now, always an HP that gives me some sort of trouble.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
