Can I use my old IDE DVD Burner with my new Motherboard?

Ok, I just ordered this, and I was wondering if I could use the IDE slot on that board with my old DVD burner from my current computer? I already ordered it but no hurry. I wont have time to put everything together for 2 weeks anyway. But I was wondering if this port was for HDD's only or if I could use my DVD drive with it as well.

Thanks!

If the board has an IDE/PATA connector, your old DVD drive should work, you may have to enable IDE/PATA in the BIOS settings.

That's my favorite AM3 mobo... Your DVD drive should work with it...

This is pretty much the sole reason IDE still exists on the motherboard. You should be fine.
