Currently im using Gigabyte's ep45c-ds3r crossfire mobo and I've been using 4.00 GB of ddr2 rams without any issue but i think it's time for me to upgrade the rams :D  . This mobo supports multiple modules like ddr2 and ddr3, it supports up to 1333 Mhz ddr3 ram, so here's the deal, im not sure wether the ddr3 ram would run properly or not because i heard that this board has compatibility issues with ddr3 modules and I've also read in few forums and found topics about stability issues with ddr3 rams.If anyone's runing ddr3 ram on this mobo without a hitch, please leave your post so that i can upgrade to ddr3 1333mhz ram :??:  .

Here's my rig

Core 2 Duo e8400 3.00 ghz (runing at stock speed )
Samsung Sync master 50000:1 18.5 LCD Monitor
4.00GB DDR2 @ 800 MHz 1x4
Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R (rev.1.0) Crossfire Mobo
Sapphire HD4870 512MB
Hitachi 160 GB Hardrive
Samsung 500 GB Hardrive

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

I was basically thinking of overclocking my processor after getting the ddr3 modules, so I think it will boost my gaming performance don't you think so ?

You can also overclock your processor with DDR2 memory.

You don't need to overclock the RAM to overclock the CPU. You could run the CPU at a 400 MHz FSB and your RAM at a 1:1 ratio.
