I have PIV 2.66 with 512 DDR and 80GB HDD. Wish to upgrade for Win7 and multicore activities and a little bit of gaming. Need help to arrive at a spec with not much money to spare.

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD Phenom II / Athlon II CPU & Biostar/Gigabyte AM3 mobo with a 24" LCD and full tower case

OVERCLOCKING: Yes / Maybe CROSSFIRE: Maybe / Maynotbe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Full High definition and upwards(1920x1080, 1920x1200)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I am looking to reduce as much cost as possible and to be future proof. Hence ditched Intel 775. 1366/1156 etc is very costly. I think AM3 will be good for me.

So about $500, I'm not sure how prices are at local shops where you live but I'll base it off of newegg prices. Do you need an operating system and monitor as well?
