Drivers crash when over 960

hey guys
whenever i oc over 960 mhz on my 6870 and play dirt three, my drives always crash. what am i doing wrong or what can i do.
my settings in afterburner are
core memory voltage
oc 960 | 1150 | 1.25v
stock 900 | 1050 | 1.17 v
