  1. Neither of your P55 chipset motherboards are compatible with the E8400 CPU listed. You will either need to use something like a P45 chipset board (not currently recommended) or an LGA 1156 CPU. Please edit your post to follow the format in the "How to ask for new build advice" so we can help tailor a compatible build for your intended use and budget.

  5. Shoot i missed the monitor :) lol

i guess i took this as he would buy it latter and was not in the 800-1100

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (will probably buy monitor local though))

    gl on the build
  6. Thanks a lot. I was kinda of thinking of dual core processor, as I would rarely make use of 4 cores... I plan on using it mostly for gaming and (correct me if I'm wrong) but isn't the majority of the advantage of having a quad core that it excels at running multiple programs simultaneously? (Something I rarely do.)

Unfortunately I was planning on including the monitor (~$150) in the 800-1100, something I probably should of mentioned... sorry. :P

Yeah, Gkay. That was actually the monitor I was looking at on New Egg, but just figured I'd save some money on shipping and see if I couldn't find something similar at walmart/bestbuy

I must say i like the OP MOBO/CPU combo better but you want dual core :)
  11. Thanks a lot Niklas_13, I really like the look of this build! Although it would be great if I could some opinions from others on it. It's even got a smexy dual-core... :)

The only thing I might change is the graphics card. $260 seems a little pricey, so i might go with the Sapphire Radeon 4890 1 GB for ~$200
  12. Some benchmarks on GPUs its up to you really your money :) http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5850,2433.html
