I want to build or pay someone to build me a very fast and durable PC based on Mac operating system. I have been using G5/dual 1.8/4GB DDR SDRAM...FCP/Dvd Studio Pro/I dvd... for video editing. I will use the new computer for HD video editing too, so I need a lot of space, speed without noise, performance, and overall perfect editing PC! Please, I need your suggestions. Where should I start? What is the best setups possible? I plan to spend 4 to 5 grand.
Using my G5, I am tired of waiting until Final Cut Pro finish rendering and Dvd Studio Pro/ i dvd authoring a dvd. Thank you for your input.

I didn't know whether you're gaming, crossfiring, or what your res was so I just made a general build to fit your "several grand" budget. The link in my sig has some questions that you can answer if you feel like this build doesn't quite fit you.

Thank you for your responses. I wish Ubernoobie explains me further and guide me where I can find these hardwares. I was thinking to buy Mac-Pro, however, with the same amount of money or a little more, I can have a better computer if I pick up the best hardwares and build it from scratch. I don't know, I might be dreaming, that is why I need your input and experience.

Thank you for your response! I need the computer for Video editing. If you are familiar with FCP and Dvd Studio Pro., they need a fast and robust computer. I want it to be based on Mac. operating system. In the near future I will start to edit HD videos so I have to pay someone build me a good computer. The problem is beside sitting and editing I don't have any idea what to get or know nothing about super motherboards, video cards.....If you are one of them, I want you to sprinkle your wisdom on me, thanks.

I'm a little confused by your post... If you would like to learn some more about computer parts, I suggest you check the 2nd post in the 2nd link in my sig and read some of the articles. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. If you are instead asking whether I'm familiar with FCP and DVD Studio, no I'm sorry I'm not.
