Ok im digging into a new computer.. its about time and looking for some help with this I alrdy know some things im getting like Intel I7 920 proc powersup case ect ect, My 3 main probs are on GC, HD, and mobo. Here are the options in the aroundabout price range i want, Any opinions appreciated,

Actually cache is not really as important a factor in determining HDD speed as platter density (the higher the better) and the F3 has a single 500GB platter, the largest in production, making it quite fast.

In most cases the Spinpoints match the Velociraptors' speed (they're much newer and much more dense).
No, it's because of the platter architecture. Newer doesn't have to do with anything.
