Before i start let me say that i have this wierd video problem in games were when evr there is to much dark on my screen i will see very transparent horizontal white lines going up and down throughout the whole monitor. this also happens on the desktop

I got 2 diffrant BSODS today..

so, here i was untinstalling avg 8.5 for the new 9.0 and i get a BSOD says somthing about memory
thats all i saw before it went away, then a few hours later i was just browsing JTV.com witch is just a free streaming site for movies/games and i get a IRQ BSOD,

I have no clue what is the deal here im thinking it was a RAM issuse so i go to download memtest, burn it ect, put it in my drive and restart right.....well go figure the comp keeps restarting soon as the first test gets to 50% so im out on a limb here and cannot find any post that is be simlar to mine.

Im thinking it IS memory but could be PSU or videocard if anyone has any clues to this please feel free to post thanks few quick notes my MOBO / CPU / are only 2 months old. rest is probly a year Also, the hard-drive is from an lower end compaq and they had it tatto'ed to the old bios so i had to over-write drivers. but the comp has run smoothly for the 2 months so i dout it that.

Specs are as follows:

GA-EP45-UD3P Gigabyte Mobo
OS: Vista
CPU: E8500 Core 2 duo (Stock speeds)
Ram: Crucial Ballistix 1gig-x4 444-12 timings 800MHZ (Stock speeds)
Video: Evga 8800 GT Superclocked Ed. (Stock) 512mb
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 500 watt

Like I told the other guy, I had Ballistix and had the same problems. Rma'd it and it went bad yet again. One stick I rma'd twice.

Its complete garbage.

I never had any video problems though, that could be a whole different problem.

Hmmmm, i see. forgot to add that ive been playing Aion in the last month and it puts the ram under major stress ( game engine bug) so this could be pushing thes sticks over the edge. its to bad i dont have a program to monitor RAM heat. sucks cause i dont think i can RMA it and i dont have the money right now to buy new ones

One question tho, since its most-likly a RAM issuse could i run it till it dies just ignoring the BOSDS or would that be a bad idea considering it might damage the other parts?

If its bad memory, it wont damage other parts but likely will get worse bsod's.

Why cant you RMA it?

No you dont have to "register" ram. It has a lifetime warranty.

Well thats nice to know least i can get more for free if thes do go out now. as for that video problem do you think it could be either PSU or video card going out?
