Why can I not use NVidia System Monitor?

I'll start with my system specs:

i7 920
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
6GB Corsair XMS3 DDR1600
BFG Tech GTX275 OCX
Seasonic 850W PSU
300GB VelociRaptor w/ Win 7 Home Premium x64
1TB Seagate 7200.12 Storage

I originally had XP x64 installed on this computer when I first built it back in August. I installed all the NVidia software and could not get System Monitor to work. Everytime I opened it it would open up and immediately pop up and say the program has encountered a problem and needs to close. At the time I was having several glitchy issues with 64-bit XP, so I blew it off as that and went on. Well when Windows 7 came out I ordered a Raptor and installed it on that and formatted the other drive so it was completely wiped. I installed everything, and I still can't run NVidia System Monitor. Everytime I open it it says nVidia System Monitor has stopped working, and does the whole "Windows is searching for a solution" thing. It then just closes. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
