Hello,i would like to know if there is a wireless switch on this desktop...trying to get wireless going but he keeps saying make sure your wireless switch is turned on

Desktops don't normally have a wireless switch, that's usually found on laptops.

Your computer doesn't even have a wireless NIC (according to the specs http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00708211&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3214105) let alone a switch. You need to add a wireless adapter.

My Aunt had A Hp and the switch is the picture at the top that lights up. However, her wireless would not work unless the wireless light was out. In other words, turn it off and try. That is if it is a laptop. It may need an adapter.
