Hi guys do you reckon my motherboard [foxconn 946GZ7MA-8KS2H] will support a Q8200?
It states it supports Core 2 Quads and Extremes but at 1066(oc) but the Q8200 uses 1333mhz

Or do you guys think it'll be better for me to pick up a used Q6600?

That list hasn't been updated in a while, it doesnt list my current E1200 which works fine.

Are 1333 FSB processors backwards compatible with slower ones?

The E1200 is a 65 nm processor while the Q8200 is a 45 nm processor. If it detects the Q8200 and you can't set the FSB to 1333, then it will run at a lower than expected speed. On the other hand, it probably won't even post and a new motherboard will be required.
