So currently I run a Asus with a first-gen i7 quad core processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM a 500GB 7200RPM HD and a 1GB dedicated 5730 discrete GPU with PCLinuxOS. The works.

Need to downgrade, don't really need this sort of thing for what I do and I need something more portable.

I am debating on these two:

Uses:
DVD stuff, burning, encoding, etc. Few times a week if that.
Light gaming, the heaviest would be using a Wii emulator for things like Super Smash Brawl, etc
General interwebs/multi-tasking

Portability.

Opinions?

No, I don't need some dual vs quad war or anything. Just opinions.

I know this would seem rather something of a no-brainer, with the Acer being 'better' all around AND thirty cheaper, but it's size is a huge turnoff, I didn't see a 'drastic' difference in the GPU's, (again, no discrete or IGP wars) and I've heard Acer has terrible build quality and hardware life. Plus the Toshiba is travel friendly. I've had very good experiences with Toshiba.

Another major factor is Linux support, again I've experienced Toshiba's excellent Linux support while having heard Acer isn't so Linux friendly.
