Hi,

A friend has ordered an Asus P6T SE and 12 Gb of RAM in 6x2GB in Kingston HyperX X.M.P., KHX1600C9D3K3

I have checked the P6T SE manual for him and I have noticed that for this particular memory, it might not be possible to fill all of the 6 slots.

This is what the manual says:

Is he going to be able to run 12Gb @ 1600 with these or should I advise him to cancel his order as soon as possible?

Otherwise, what's a tested and supported 12Gb RAM configuration for this motherboard?

Thanks

Memory should run without any issues... You may have to set the sticks to recommended spec, i.e voltage, speed, and timing... What you were looking at was a 3gb stick and having 6 of those would give 18 gb of ram total... The mobo doesn't support that... The 2gb sticks would be ok so far as their 1600mhz or slower, if you intend to fill up all the 6 slots... your friend would be fine... Good luck...

Hi tomsjarwar, I am in a similar situation and would like to know if 6x2gb of 1600Mhz of RAM would work. The statement that according to Intel specs, only 1 1600Mhz RAM DIMM is supported per channel. Did your friend get the 6x2Gbs? If so what was the outcome. Thanks.
