My monitor is 1900x1080 (asus vw246h)

I dont have much money for a gpu, so i am planning to purchase a HD 5770 and maybe in 2-3months buy another to crossfire when i need more fire power. Im not that big of a pc gamer and dont need everything maxed out. The 2 games I am waiting for the most, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, will not even have that high system requirements.

My questions is when I look at the framerates online for the gpu and all others, there are at a resolution of 1900x1200.
Since I will be gaming on 1900x1080 would that mean i can expect a better framerate ? If so by how much ?

Usually a 1-2 frame difference between the 2 resolutions.

The HD 5770 will give you plenty of firepower for those 2 titles.

+1^,the difference between 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 isn't noticeable in terms of gaming and also 5770 would be fine for those games

+1 HD 5770

However the 4890 outperforms it, but is only DX10.1 and sucks more power.

Awesome, thanks for the information, in the meantime i will probably play games like call of duty, RE5, and farcry 2, but i dont need the highest possible settings, just 30 fps or higher will do me just fine. I am more of a heavy gamer on the xbox and ps3, untill starcraft 2 and D3 come out at least :)

I considered it, but the way i see it, id be better off with DX 11 for the future and if i ever needed more power I could just CF 2 HD 5770 cards. Also I was thinking of going with a 650 W PSU which could handle CF HD 5770, but probably not CF HD 4890

For your gaming a 5770 would be good,it will do well in COD,RE5 and FC2
