Guy's I need your advice, Im building a new machine and was intent upon a radeon 5870 for the video card. Unfortunately I've got all the pieces for my new system built around an i-7 860 and 8GB ram but unable to get my hands on either the 5850 or 5870. Honestly I'm at the point where I have decided to buy another card and then upgrade in 6 months or so. My problem is Im not sure what card to get, I've been thinking of a 4870 or 5770 but would love some advice. I'm going to be using the computer for photo editing, and Gaming hence my need for a decent graphics card.

It is not worth it, just wait until one of the HD58K cards are available. You will regret re-upgrading; not to mention the 5770 is worse than the HD4870, in terms of performance.

just get a 5770 and add another 5770 in 6 months..
