Ok so technically i have oced before, using easy tune 6
but i decided to set back to defaults and oc manually through bios
this is what i was told
"I would put the CBLK at 200, Multi at 20, try vcore at 1.3v, Also make sure to have LCC at high/extreme so you dont get the vdrop when you max out the CPU."

in bios i have set me BCLK to 150 which set my cpu to 3.45GHz, which is where i want it
and i set the vcore to 1.3v, however i dont know how to change my multi or the lcc?

here is a review of my motherboard, with pics of pretty much every screen in the bios

a couple other questions i have
when i open control panel, system it says Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz 3.45 GHz

when i open cpu-z it says Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz

in bios it says 3.45GHz
Non-Turbo Frequenc 3450.3
Turbo Frequenc 3600.3

why does it show my cpu at 3.07ghz n cpuz?

GIGABYTE GA-X58-USB3 LGA 1366
GIGABYTE 1gb 460 GTX SLI
i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz oced @ 3.45GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200 RPM
SILVERSTONE ST75F-P 750W
SILVERSTONE TJ09

howdy!

if you look at the lower left of cpu-z you will see the clock speed listed as 3600.0Mhz which is correct iwth your turbo enabled. the specification means the factory specs.

since i have never overclocked a bloomfield, i cannot advise you there. but a 20% overclock isn't looking bad at all.

Yes it is surely overclocked at 3.45ghz.
That 3.07 is in the name of the processor(complete name of the cpu)
Dont worry , its good.
