Difference between 3gb/s and 6gb/s
Apr 22, 2010, 4:05 AM
Is there really that big of a difference (those speeds are SATA speeds I saw on specs of some ASUS mobos).
There is this asus mobo for like 140 dollars and another one for like 120, the difference is the 3gb/s and 6gb/s.
Will it make that big of a difference? Is it worth saving 20 bucks to go with 3gb/s mobo?

You can see
the bandwidth comparative of many devices.
As u can see, SATA II can handle 2,400 Mbit/s and SATA III can handle 4,800 Mbit/s.
Finally, u can see
some performance chart with the SATA III against SATA II.
