Computer slow after adding another disk drive

Hello,
I have a HP pavilion running win xp SP2
I added an 500GB drive,moved mydocuments to the new drive but made sure the other components remained on C: The system is now very slow including time to swap tasks
Why what can I do to fix?
I defragged the drives, use CCleaner to remove unneeded files.

Why are you still on SP2 ? Your are so far out of date !

I added an 500GB drive,moved mydocuments to the new drive but made sure the other components remained on C: The system is now very slow including time to swap tasks
drives are
WDC WD32000JS-60PDB0
WDC WD5000AAKS-22V1A0
C DRIVE IS DUAL BOOTED WIN XP AND CENTOS LINUX

What can I do to fix?
