I can recommend the basics of the build but the deciding factor lies in your chioce, take your pick
A) Higher longetivity, higher upgradability, Extreme Power
B) Higher Power , cheaper, less upgradability, less longetivity
C) Cheaper, moderate/good power

Pick either A,B, or C and then that will mostly decide which Socket,Chipset, and CPU you will need :)

Maybe save a bit for better speekers :) but thos buds was all your budget allowed

If you live buy microcenter pick up the CPU there, also you have time to hunt good deals look around @ others places and compare prices and see if local stores will price match.

I am sure you can fit in a nice pair of speekers if you shop well.

Well then you are looking at a 1366 Build. The intel X58 Chipset and the Intel Core -i7 processors
-Your choices for your CPU will vary widley from the 920 to the 975 ranging from $200 dollars to 1000+ dollars
-Newer Hexacored CPU's which will be released later on will be on this socket (thats why it has upgradability and longetivity)
-Now lets begin
================
For your budget you are looking at a Core i7 920 Build :)
Give me the go ahead on this and i'll put together a basic starting build for you to tweak to your desire.

I'll give you the go ahead - I'm looking for something similar, so it would benefit us both :wahoo: .

For gaming no, Take a look @ the differnt CPUs for gaming http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3641&p=7 also you can see in this review about other stuff the CPUs are compaired to.

To answer your question it would depened on what your doing with the CPU.

Some reviews of GPUs http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5850,2433.html

And if you live by a microcenter the i5 750 is a steel @ 149.99 http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0317379

As far as OCing Just so you are a whare the i5 750s did have some problems @ very high OCs with the s1156 using foxconn sockets http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3661

The mobo i posted has a lotes socket that did not have problem, anyways this was with hard-core OCing

Hopes this helps

Gl

Pics of the mobo click on the back of the mobo and zoom in to see the lotes name http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageGallery.aspx?CurImage=13-188-054-TS&SpinSet=13-188-054-SS&ISList=13-188-054-Z01%2c13-188-054-Z02%2c13-188-054-Z03%2c13-188-054-Z04%2c13-188-054-Z05%2c13-188-054-Z06%2c13-188-054-Z07%2c13-188-054-Z08%2c13-188-054-Z09%2c13-188-054-Z10%2c13-188-054-Z11&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16813188054&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=EVGA%20P55%20LE%20123-LF-E653-KR%20LGA1156%20Intel%20P55%20ATX%20Intel%20Motherboard
