I know it was made for entertainment systems and LCDs but is it really better than a DVD player or canb you use it with a blu-ray drive?

If I get a GPU with an HDMI instead of using the DVI HDMI converter will it work using the WMC interface?

Sadly Microsoft has not added blu-ray support to media player, so no blu on media center. You will need a 3rd party app to view blu-rays on windows.

suppsedly the arcsoft total media theatre http://www.arcsoft.com/en-us/softw [...] 3P#submenu adds a whole plugin to media center for blu-ray playback, but $100 i don't know if its worth it over the basic software that comes with the drives

I wonder why microsoft hasnt adopted to adding any blu-ray drivers/software for their media players and media centers.... I guess this is a lisensing or propriatory issue between SONY and MS..... Sony is directly responsible for the formet and everyone seems to be developing their hardware more for Blu Ray .....

One of the reasons why MS left Blue Ray support, is because blue ray license costs around $30. Other reason is the war between PS and Xbox :o
