SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Web Design, Virtualization, Programming

I think you'll be OK, but you could go the i7 860 with 1156 MB and get similar performance for less money. The 1156 motherboards cost less since they don't have a north bridge. They also consume less power. You would have to get either 4GB or 8GB of ram instead of 6GB. The newer 1156 processors are supposedly better than the 1366 processors when using 3 or fewer cores. I don't know of any games that use 4 cores.

Hmm I will look at some sample 860 systems... I have a student copy of Win7 by the way.
