Copying all files to a ssd. How to? Please help!!!

Ok, hi every one. I just got my Patriot Warp 32GB V2 SSD for 45$ off of ebay. Got it in the mail today, and i hocked it up, and it will not show up as a local disk in "My Computer". Do i need to format it? I'm using Vista. I just want to copy all my files to it because i don't even have over 30GB on my hdd, then i'm going to trash my hdd cuz it's only 74 gb.

So, how do i copy all my files to the ssd?

Your other option is to clone your existing drive using something like Acronis True Image.

I i'm using vista, so i can't get trim. And it is set to ACHI mode. So will i have to do a new install on my ssd?

A fresh install is the preferred method. It should not take long since you apparently have very little to install.

I would do what Anonymous1 wrote.

Just in case u dont have the OS disc available, i can use Clonezilla,

But, its always best to do clean install, especially when u add/remove hardware
