Im using a Asrock extreme3 gen3 motherboard. Overclocking 2500k to 4.5. and im using 8gb of Corsair vengeance ram.

its 1600mhz ram. however its default at 1333. In the bios i can either just set it to 1600, or i can set Xmp profile 1.2 and it will go to 1600. However since then i have been getting BSOD's. I set it back to 1333 and everything is fine now. any ideas?

What voltage is rated at for the 1600 speed and what voltage are you actually feeding it when you try to run at 1600?

My ram is rated at 1.65 volts for 1333. It boots at 1066 and 1.5v.

With only two sticks, I was able to stay at 1.5. However, I added another pair of 4g sticks today and had to bump both the ram voltage (by .05) and the NB voltage (by .005) in order to keep my OC.

It looks like you only need 1.5 volts. I would also check the cas timings. (That's something else I had to change to the specs on the package)

well it was already at 9-9-9-24 and 1.5. so i set it 1600mhz and about an hour later i got a BSOD. Usually i get them while just browsing the web or loading a game. Is there anyway i can test ram stability at 1600 just to confirm its a ram issue?

My vengeance RAM is very finicky also. I think I'm running 1680mhz at 1.6 fully stable, any higher and BSOD.
I will never buy vengeance again. My buddies cheaper Kingston HyperX 1600mhz overclocks way higher then my big bad heatsync vengeance with no issues what so ever.

well im currently running memtest...

And yes i agree this is ridiculous. Im not trying to get extra performance out of these sticks, i just want what I was promised. 1600. And for the massive heat-sinks and aggressive look. This ram is pretty weak

well im getting an error with memtest. "Computer cannot accurately store data in ram"

This is at 1.612 DRam voltage and in dual channel mode at 1600. Not sure what else to do, but it looks like im stuck at 1333...
