Hello all. Newbie to this forum. I recently recieved my sapphire hd 3850 apg card and am awaiting the arrival of a new power supply rated at 650 watts with 28 total watts at the single 12vdc rail output.
Two questions.

Is the 28 watts, 2 watts shy of the recommended, sufficient to power this card?

Secondly, if i aquired a power supply with multiple +12vdc rails can i connect the splitter power adaptor cable to 2 seperate rails, say an 18 watt and an 18 watt.
Thanx in advance.

It's actually amps, not watts. And the card doesn't require all 30 amps so you'll be just fine with 28 amps.

I stand corrected!!! Dont know why I said watts.
Thanx for the reply , that puts me a little at ease.
So the 30 amps recommended is for the +12vdc output from the power supply , correct?
