[b][/b] I have a emachines e525 and i can't turn it on all i keep getting is setup is starting services and then a dialog box that says Windows cannot complete installation in Safe Mode. To continue installing Windows, restart the computer...and then goes on to say press F2 for setup....i have the backup disc from when i first brought the laptop a year ago but i can't load it with out the home screen please advise me on what to do to reset my computer back to factory settings i don't care about losing everything but i just need my laptop up and working please help me please

Register or log in to remove.

put your backup disc in then you need to set the cd/dvd drive as the first boot device either by going into the bios or pressing an f key for a boot menu might be f12 but different makers use different ones

if your backup disc is bootable then it will let you run it

there may also be a hidden recovery partition--but i dont know which key or keys emachines use to access it if there is one

edited--try f11 for the recovery partition
