My computer froze while running mediamonkey and burning a cd w/ another app. I got stuck in a cycle of not being able to reboot and sometimes getting the cd drive to start; this happened once before I eventually fixed it by setting the Motherboard back to defaults and then it was able to boot. But this was after a bunch of other stuff....
I uninstalled my Logitech drivers for my mouse and keyboard as well as the ATI catalyst drivers from Asus Extreme AX300se/t as the screen was freezing...
So when I got the boot problem fixed I tried to reload the video drivers and it's been a mess. I used my last good ones and then tried the latest...didn't work. When booting I'd get the found vga and would either xp update that and then do ati or would do ati - always the same didn't work.
Oh and did I mention I lost the tabs in my display properties tab? Yup along with no task manager. I got all that back in the registry.
I have a partial fix; I boot, see the ? near the display driver in the device manager and then uninstall the driver from device manager and then scan for changes and it WORKS, no ? and I can see the video card & monitor; still can't get catalyst center to open and when I reboot I have to do this over....
Any thoughts? Trying to get this fixed asap for a video visit sunday with family...
