[GIGABYTE] Full Memory Not Recognized on P55A-UD3

Hey Guys-

I just finished a build, but I'm having some trouble. The computer works fine, but Windows 7(x64) registers 2.00GB of the 4.00GB of ram as usable. It shows that there is 4 GB of ram installed, but says that only 2 GB is usable. Any ideas on how to get it to recognize the other 2 GB? I'm using:

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz
Core i5-750 processor(Lynnfield)
Sapphire Radeon 5770

Thanks in advance. I really hope I can avoid a call to technical support :) .

  1. Hello and welcome to the forums :)
It seems Re-seating the CPU and then putting the RAM sticks one by one has helped some users, try it
  2. ^+1 Reseating the CPU often helps. (You have the RAM in the 2nd slot from the CPU and the fourth (farthest) slot from the CPU, correct?) However sometimes you have bent pins in the motherboard socket which need straightened out. You may as well look for these while you have the CPU out. Following is a link to a sticky that bilbat has put together which you may find useful for its focus on Gigabyte boards, but in particular search for "i3/i5/i7 'Missing' Memory" for more information about missing memory and bent pins: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/272698-30-gigabyte-guide-read-first
